At the San Francisco Women’s Housing Coalition, we believe housing is a fundamental right.
Too many women in our city face homelessness, displacement, and housing insecurity. Through advocacy and policy change, we’re working toward a future where every woman has access to safe, affordable housing.
Our coalition model is rooted in the power of collective action, because real change happens when we organize as one. Together we are stronger.

Understanding Women’s Homelessness in San Francisco
We are proud to share our latest report, featuring findings from a 2025 survey of more than 400 women experiencing homelessness in San Francisco’s Mission, Bayview, SoMa, Tenderloin, and Fillmore neighborhoods, as well as a series of follow-up focus groups to give voices to the numbers..
The report examines why women lose their housing and the challenges they face while unhoused. Most notably, it is the first to highlight the inextricable link between violence and homelessness in the lives of women in San Francisco.
